Mr. Thomas Frank Daetwyler assumed his position as the new Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria in Colombo with effect from 22nd December 2020, after receiving the Exequatur dated 10th December 2020 from H.E. Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka.

The post had fallen vacant after Mr. Daetwyler’s predecessor had retired in summer 2020. The opening of the new consulate will further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries and contribute to enhancing trade relations and tourism.
